all black everything

realized the other day that i really do wear all black everything. i should move to NY. when you're in the judean desert, in like 25 degree whether, the sun is beating down on you, and you're still wearing all black - you might have a problem. and obviously the clothing i bought abroad was... all black. whatever, nothing chic-er than all-black done juuuuust right. so i'm not about the change.

looking back: trip was so unreal. couldn't have asked for more (except the rain on the very last day). and maybe some more time on the beach. totally reinforced my view that studying history IS important!!! how can one NOT appreciate the ruins of a centuries-old seaport? or a city thats been torn apart and rebuilt a billion times - with every layer still visible, dating back thousands of years? makes your lifetime feel insignificant, in a good way - drives you to make epic things happen in your own lifetime. or appreciate that ones that, while you're living through them, will go down in history. epic win for me and kalyna LOL.

"history is so important. if you don't where you've come from, you won't know where you're going!"
- K. Kardash

shut up, i'm not a nerd. i'm just right. lol.

on to a new year and new adventures.

keep it real

writing postcards is way more work than you'd think.
but sharing memories with people you care about is worth it, no?

after roughly a week on israel, gotta say that this trip totally exceeded my expectations. historical sites keep me happy, and i've never eaten so much hummus with pita in my LIFE. but i love it. all of it.

decided that new goal #2 in life is to live on the mediterranean. SO BEAUTIFUL, everything that the great lakes should/could never be. crystal clear blue water makes me smile everytime. i'll have to find somewhere in the south of france to go to grad school... or maybe athens?

trips abroad are also good for reality checks though. berlin wall-esque experience makes me go from realist to idealist and back again. sigh.

tel aviv lifeeee

life in israel = wa wa wee wa LOL. my tour guide actually said that the other day. but lets be honest, red hair and a mixed-kid nose is NOT the way to blend in. bright yellow cameras dont help either.

i could stay here for-EVER. weather is beautiful, sights are gorgeous, and history is insane (such a sucker for history). and watching hot surfers on the beach in the morning aint bad either.

still weirdly distracted, sometimes. guess you can run a million miles away, and some things still dont leave your mind. sigh.

bethlehem tomorrow for christmas day partay. probably gonna be in top 10 coolest things ill ever do.

bon nuit, tel aviv...

Around the world...

Continent #5, here I come.
Family vacays usually plagued with problems, meaning this could be a recipe for disaster but... hoping for the best? On the bright side, temp jumps 30 degrees. YESSSSSSS.
(still sad its not gonna be a white christmas)

need to leave some (emotional) baggage over on the other side of the world.

cheers to new perspectives and warmer skin tones.

ps. even though real life doesn't come with a spellcheck, i still love you. LOL.

old habits die hard.
like... caring.
i should really quit that.

roomie love

ohhhh ms. kardash. my biggest fan?
taking pictures of me and then decorating them with clip art... how adorable.
maybe you should take all that creativity and channel it into an essay or two instead LOL
more importantly - epic fail on this skirt, H&M. adds 5 inches to my ass.

songbird

so in love with adele lately.
apparently beyonce is her second biggest fan - next to me
wish i could sing like this girl... (not a chance)
"make you feel my love" - lyrics make me melt.
